Air Force Island

Air Force Island is located at the northeastern corner of the Foxe Basin, situated 20 km south from the Wordie Bay region of southwestern Baffin Island. To the west, situated 11 km across the shallow Cockram Strait, sits the larger Prince Charles Island (visible at the left edge of the image).
The landscape of Air Force Island (1,720 km²) is extremely low-lying, with maximum elevations rarely exceeding 20 m. From east to west the island has a maximum dimension of 62 km, with north to south widths averaging 30 km.
