The Eclipse Islands are located in the remote northeastern regions of the Kimberley; they lie at the head of Vansittart Bay, 7 km east from the eastern prongs of the Cape Bougainvlle peninsula. There are four main islands, each measuring 3-5 km in length and around 1 km in width. The largest island, Long Island, is the southernmost island of the group.
