Lamotrek (shown here in false-colour) is a small atoll of eastern Yap State, located 9 km east from Elato and 71 km southwest from West Fayu.
The atoll has a maximum length of 15 km (orientated from northwest to southeast) with a maximum width of 6.5 km, enclosing a lagoon of 32 km² in area. There are three small vegetated islands on the atoll rim — Falaite (on the northwest), Pugue (on the northeast) and Lamotrek (on the southeast) with a combined land area of less than 1 km².
