Jemo

Jemo, Marshall Islands

The small island of Jemo lies within the Ratak chain of atolls, situated midway between the atolls of Likiep (34 km to the southwest) and Ailuk (42 km to the northeast).

The oval-shaped island is a vegetated, low coral islet of around 0.6 km in length. It occupies the extreme southwestern end of a narrow submarine ridge that extends to the northeast for several kilometers. The ridge is topped by reefs that break the surface at a number of points, with breaking ocean swells on the western face.
