Taka is a small atoll of the Ratak chain, located 65 km northwest of Ailuk. It forms a tight pairing with the atoll of Utirik, which lies less than 6 km to the east of Taka. The formation consists of 5 islets spread around a small lagoon of 93 km². Its islets cover an area of 0.57 km².
