Tetiaroa

A small atoll formation of the eastern Windward group, Tetiaroa lies 48 km north from its larger neighbour of Tahiti.
The atoll comprises an outer rim of approximately 55 km in circumference and 6.5 km in diameter, enclosing a moderately deep central lagoon. The are 13 islets (6 km²) located around the reef rim; major islands include Oroatera (on the northeast), Tiaraunu (on the northwest), Onetahi (on the southwest) and Rimatuu (on the south).
